The business founder, a confidential client, approached Robertson Collaborate in early summer 2016. With their rich and in-depth experience of this technology B2B sector, the client had identified an opportunity to enter the marketplace and offer businesses in the UK and beyond a better and more cost-effective solution. Their service was to be offered through a digital platform and Robertson Collaborate provided an outsourced “marketing director” service and created a marketing strategy. The strategy focused heavily on digital marketing required pre- and post-launch and recommendations were laid out in a 12-month action plan.

The client is an advocate of Bill Aulet’s programme “Disciplined Entrepreneurship: 24 Steps to a Successful Startup”, which breaks down into six key areas:

  1. Who is your customer?
  2. What can you do for your customer?
  3. How does your customer acquire your product?
  4. How do you make money off your product?
  5. How do you design and build your product?
  6. How do you scale your business?

Marketing recommendations were aligned with the programme – its rigorous framework is complementary to how Robertson Collaborate works with clients.

The Result

The client successfully launched the platform in 2020, with a highly successful first year of operations despite launching as Covid lockdown hit home.
