Urban Quarters was one of the bold new businesses in the travel sector developed in readiness for V&A Dundee opening. It has set a new standard of contemporary serviced apartments for the city and is perfectly situated in Dundee’s cultural quarter. The apartments are designed to appeal to the leisure and business visitor for a brief stay or for weeks at a time.
Owner Lynne Henderson had done an excellent job in nailing the proposition but faced the common challenge of needing to make people aware of the offering to secure bookings. She was looking for clarity on what to focus on to achieve that.
Robertson Collaborate was brought in to give guidance on all of the main online marketing options, including social media channels, as well as ways to spread the word more locally. This included consideration and advice on the full “marketing mix”.
Getting found on Google was a top priority for Urban Quarters but advice was also given on a number of go-to places online that national and international visitors will use to both build knowledge of accommodation and make bookings.
“As owner operators of a small business it's easy to fall into the trap of becoming ‘Jack of all trades and master of none’. Recognising that this may be happening to us, we called upon the services of Robertson Collaborate and undertook a Snapshot Marketing Review. We were very impressed by Catherine's professional and straightforward approach. She had obviously done a lot of groundwork prior to our meeting and clearly understood our brand and its place in the market, thus bringing immediate clarity and focus on short- and long-term goals. The resulting action plan has empowered us to take control of our digital marketing strategy and put an end to our largely reactive approach. We would highly recommend Catherine and Robertson Collaborate to anyone wishing to take a fresh look at their business and we look forward to working with her further in the future.”
