What we do

Established in 2009 with years of business-to-consumer and business-to-business experience, Robertson Collaborate is an independent strategic marketing and digital consultancy based in Scotland.

We help clients grow their business

Directors Catherine Robertson and John Robertson take time to understand each client's business objectives. The core of our proposition is strategy and the alignment of the right marketing to achieve your business goals. Client work involves getting to know your business and your purpose and that work sets the foundation for your growth and our ongoing support if desired.

Placing the customer at the heart of the process we deliver strategic action plans, and integrated marketing that includes a mix of digital channels, including paid search, SEO, affiliates, online display, email and social media, and non-digital channels including TV, partner marketing, print, exhibitions and PR.

The challenges that we can help solve

  • How to market your business better

  • How to grow your revenue and guidance through that process
  • Finding the right partners to support your strategic plan’s delivery
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of your business’ marketing efforts

What you will get from working with us

  • Clarity over how to work towards having a marketing purpose, vision, strategy and achieving your business goals

  • Very experienced hands guiding you through the process of building your marketing foundations and executing your plans
  • Plain English speakers who will demystify any technical jargon, especially around digital marketing
  • Support in finding the right marketing partners for say branding, web development and PR, with the peace of mind of knowing that those partners have a proven trusted ongoing relationship and a track record of success with us.

What you might be currently doing if you aren’t working with us

  • Maybe you don’t have a plan. Maybe you are carrying out self-guided ad-hoc marketing activities with different tools that are not integrated and hoping for the best. Maybe you are not keeping up with Google’s expectations of effectively managing your business online.

  • Or you could be following the advice of your marketing agency/ies but felt you did not have the know-how to properly brief the agency or assess their suitability for your needs.
  • You could also be feeling unsure of whether your marketing agency is making best use of your marketing budget and how to measure it.

What we don’t do for you

We won’t design your brand. We won’t build your website. We won’t tweet for you. We won’t contact the press for you. We won’t create Google ads for you. We won’t build your customer relationship management system. But we will advise on who can and we can direct that whole process with you and your internal team and with any external partners.

We will create a plan you can action.

Don’t think you can afford us?

The majority of small and even micro-businesses are pleased to discover they can. That’s because we offer a one-day snapshot marketing review to those on a tight budget. It’s also suitable for those who just want some punchy high-level advice. We shrink down our full marketing planning process into one easy-to-access day of advice and that can really make a difference to kick-starting your marketing in a more structured, well-thought-through way.

The way forward

We can work together in whichever way suits you as your outsourced “marketing director” or to provide support to your existing in-house marketer. Following the creation of a plan, we can work with your business for a day a week or a month or whatever is required to deliver it. A short burst of independent advice can really make the difference to growing your business. If you are a larger business, we can bolster your existing marketing team, bringing a fresh pair of eyes to your operation or supporting you through a one-off project.
